What platforms is the XP22 compatible with? +
The XP22 fits any standard Picatinny (MIL-STD-1913) rail. Compatible platforms include AR-15, AK (with side-rail adapter), bolt-action rifles, shotguns with accessory rails (Mossberg 590, Remington 870), crossbows, camera rigs, helmets, and bikes. It is not recommended for standard pistols — the 102 mm body exceeds most handgun frame rails.
How do I activate and use the electronic lockout? +
To lock: with the light ON, press and hold the switch for 5 seconds — it will flash twice to confirm lockout.
To unlock: press and hold the switch for 5 seconds from the OFF state — it flashes once and is ready to use.
Use lockout whenever the light is stored, holstered, or transported to prevent accidental activation.
Will it stay zeroed after heavy recoil? +
Yes. The screw-rod fastening system uses mechanical clamping force — not spring clips — to lock the XP22 to Picatinny slots. It is rated for sustained centerfire rifle recoil. Independent testers at CandlePowerForums and BudgetLightForum confirmed the mount did not shift after hundreds of rounds on AR-15 and AK platforms.
Can I charge the XP22 while it is still mounted on my rifle? +
Yes — that's precisely the point of the magnetic charging system. The port snaps on one-handed without removing the light from the rail, even in low light. The LED indicator glows red during charging and green when fully charged (~2 hours). You cannot operate the light simultaneously while charging.
Can the battery be replaced when it eventually degrades? +
The 1,100 mAh Li-Polymer battery is built-in and not user-replaceable. It is rated for 500+ charge cycles before dropping to 80% capacity — that's roughly 3–5 years of typical use. If performance degrades significantly, contact Brinyte support at service@brinyte.com for service options.
How does the XP22 differ from the XP22 MK3? +
The XP22 Scorpion is the proven, field-tested base model: 1,300 lm white light, magnetic charging, electronic lockout, and recoil-proof rail mount. The XP22 MK3 is the upgraded version: 1,600 lm white light + integrated Class IIIa green laser with independent switching, increased beam distance to 374 m, and an even lower 14.55 mm housing height. Choose the XP22 for pure white-light performance at lower cost; choose the MK3 if you need the green laser aiming solution.
